Thirty Years of Legislative Advocacy Means "Clout"

VCIA's President and the VCIA Legislative Committee work together to monitor and influence legislation that is favorable to captives at both the state and federal levels. Current laws and regulations are monitored, and VCIA works closely with the state's policymakers to address any unintended outcomes and recommend further enhancements as necessary. VCIA also works with its members to identify additional opportunities for strengthening the Vermont domicile, and works to gain passage of legislation.

The VCIA has offered three decades of effective legislative representation for Vermont's captive insurance industry. Continual modifications to Vermont's captive statute allow captive insurance companies to operate with maximum productivity and efficiency.

VCIA gathers information from its membership, legislative committee and board of directors to ensure that proposed legislation meets the emerging needs of this dynamic industry.

VCIA has representation at the state and federal level in order to be informed of proposals and advocate for positions that enhance the position of captive insurance companies.
