Join VCIA in celebrating this year’s recipients of the coveted Captive Crusader, Honorary Member, and Industry Service awards followed by engaging session with keynote speaker Juliette Kayyem.

Juliette Kayyem, Harvard Professor, CNN National Security Analyst, Pulitzer Prize Finalist, & Former Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security

✔ International leader in crisis management and homeland security with high posts in academia, private sector, government and media. CEO of Grip Mobility, a technology security company in the mobility space.

✔ Consults governors, mayors, and corporations on crisis management, with her most recent book The Devil Never Sleeps: Learning to Live in an Age of Disasters.

✔ Her #VCIA2023 talk: "After the 'Boom': Building Resiliency in the Age of Mayhem" will provide lessons learned from years spent managing the nation’s most pressing disasters. Juliette draws on her experiences handling such crises as the BP Oil Spill and the H1N1 Outbreak to deliver strategies risk management professionals in all sectors can bring back to their organizations.

VCIA is delighted to have Hotel Vermont once again host our "off campus" networking reception. Join industry  colleagues for a great time in Burlington’s beautiful boutique hotel near the waterfront – Hotel Vermont. Excellent food and Vermont craft beeres on hand. Mingle with friends and take in the view. This is another very popular event at the conference and we hope to see you there!

Thursday August 10th 8:30-9:30am|  Situation Room with Vermont's Department of Financial Regulation's Sandy Bigglestone - New!

Join Sandy Bigglestone, Vermont’s Deputy Insurance Commissioner, and our other highly experienced panelists, for an engaging and interactive discussion on current hot topics impacting the captive insurance industry. In what is always a highly regarded session, this year puts the spotlight on Vermont's new captive leader, Sandy Bigglestone, who was just listed as #3 in Captive Review's Power 50. Panelists will examine current developments in captive regulation and key issues facing the industry as well as highlighting future initiatives, new opportunities for growth, and using captives to address a hardening market.  Following this session, attendees will be informed on current events and future initiatives impacting the captive insurance industry and its members.
