Join VCIA!

VCIA has five membership categories:

  • Captive (full)
  • Associate
  • Affiliate
  • Honorary
  • Cell
     

Full Members (Captive Insurance Companies)

A Full member is any licensed captive insurer formed under VSA Title 8: Any captive management company authorized by the Vermont Department of Banking, Insurance, Securities and Health Care Administration. Full members serve on committees, the board and have voting privileges. Membership is corporate. Contacts can be changed at any time if necessary.
Dues: $1,035 U.S. per year

Associate Members

An Associate member is any person or firm engaged in the provision of products or services to captive insurance companies.  Associate members may serve on committees and the board but do not have voting privileges. Membership is corporate. Contacts can be changed at any time if necessary.
Dues:  $1195 U.S. per year

Affiliate Members

An Affiliate member is a captive insurer domiciled outside of Vermont; a captive affiliate (related legal entity to a Vermont licensed captive member); a sponsored captive insurance company participant; an interested party that does not qualify under the definitions of either a Full or Associate membership. Primary business may not be provision of products or services to captive insurers. Affiliate members may serve on committees but cannot serve on the board and do not have voting privileges. Contacts can be changed at any time if necessary.
Dues: $825 U.S. per year

Cell Membership

Cell participants of a sponsored captive insurance company. Cell members may serve on VCIA Committees.
Dues: $295 U.S. per year

Honorary Membership

An Honorary Member is any person or entity elected by the Board of Directors to receive a lifetime membership in VCIA. Honorary members have no voting privileges.

Please note

A portion of membership dues is tax deductible as a business expense. The estimated non-deductible portion of your dues to be expended on lobbying efforts is 20%.  For more information regarding Federal Law, please contact your tax adviser.
