Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I’m honored to greet you today in my new role as President of the Vermont Captive Insurance Association.
This is a moment of renewal—not just for me personally, but for VCIA as we step into our next chapter. We stand at a unique intersection: celebrating 40 years of leadership in the captive industry, while actively shaping what the next forty will look like.
The strength of VCIA has always come from its people. From our members and partners to our regulators and industry advocates, this community is built on collaboration, insight, and a shared commitment to progress. That spirit is what drew me to VCIA nearly a decade ago—and it’s what inspires me now as I take on this role. As we look ahead, my focus is clear: to foster connection, elevate new ideas, and ensure VCIA continues to be a community where every member feels heard, valued, and empowered to lead. With committee sign-ups now open, this is the perfect time to get involved. Whether you’re a seasoned voice in the industry or just beginning your captive journey, VCIA thrives when our members engage. Your ideas, your leadership, and your energy will help shape the future we’re building together.
As I step into this role, I do so with deep appreciation for the leaders who came before me—most recently Kevin Mead, whose thoughtful stewardship helped position VCIA for the opportunities ahead. Their collective legacy is one of leadership, collaboration, and progress—and it’s a foundation I’m proud to build upon.
The next forty years start now – let’s shape them together.
Sincerely,
Ian Davis, VCIA President
