We can't believe we are less than a month away from VCIA's40th anniversary conference, but that is simply the fact! When this blog publishes we are likely to have had eclipsed over 1,000 VCIA registrants who are all descending on the eclectic city of Burlington in just a few weeks to information share, build business relationships and track captive insurance best practices. And that is just the tip of the iceberg!
I want to highlight something fundamental about the VCIA conference experience, something that is like the water that the fish live in, in that timeless proverbial metaphor. Bear with me! In this analogy the city of Burlington VT, a city of innovation and creativity, a city of fine dining and great shopping; a city of communities and wonderful events, is the water. And we VCIA fishes could not ask for a better place to swim in!
Particularly, VCIA has chosen some incredible spaces for our high-end special networking events. Let me dive into some details about where you will be and why it will feel great to be there, and productive too.
VCIEL Welcome Reception - ECHO Aquarium and Museum
The first case up is the Patrick Leahy Echo Museum right on Lake Champlain which will be host to the VCIEL welcome reception sponsored by Community Bank, Oliver Wyman and ESIS. The VCIEL, a formal committee dedicated to advancing the next generation of Vermont captive workforce, is thrilled to play host in this incredible Science Museum and Aquarium, and be able to showcase the major strides VCIEL has made in building workforce recruitment for the Vermont captive community as well as increasing significant educational awareness to younger generations.
The Dealer.com Terrace as they call it, is a gorgeous place to network and take in the lake and the Adirondack Mountains. Hopefully it won't rain! Nevertheless there's incredible space inside that overlooks Lake Champlain and the party from August 10th 4:30 to 6:30 will be replete with wonderful yummy treats and drinks so you can feel comfortable and excited for the VCIA week ahead.
40th Anniversary Celebration - Hula
On Monday the anniversary conference festivities truly begin after registration and captive immersion and some sessions and a headshot photo booth sponsored by ComputerShare. In the late afternoon we all head to the Hula Lakefront Event and Workspace on the south end of Burlington. We will have busses to shuttle you there, of course! Hula is a highly modernized and chic venue with brilliant light and wonderful patios to enjoy the lake.
Exhibitor Reception- Tuesday, DoubleTree Exhibit Hall
Perhaps one of our most popular events occurring is right smack dab in our 75 booth sold out exhibit hall with plenty of drinking food to go around and plenty of great conversation. There you can truly see captive action taking place!
Hotel Vermont Closing Reception
The signature Hotel Vermont will provide the very best of Burlington and Vermont charm, friendliness and beauty, and we can't wait to dig into it all with you in just a few weeks!
